Drapes Design Apartments occupies the former Madeira Embroidery Factory, today transformed into a modern building where each floor pays tribute to a traditional stitching technique. The third floor consists of two connected studios, each with a double bed, bathroom, and fully equipped kitchenette. Together, they accommodate up to four guests, making this floor ideal for families, couples travelling together, or guests who want more privacy. The building features a shared rooftop terrace, complete with an outdoor kitchen and seating area, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. A shared laundry room is also available for guest use. AREA A few metres from this property is the Edifício Anadia, a shopping centre with several shops, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, in a privileged central area, right in the heart of the city of Funchal. A stone's throw from the Lavradores Market and the Old Town of Funchal, from here you can explore on foot the several touristic points of our beautiful city (ex. Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...) At the building's exit you have an excellent connection to the local bus network and to the entire island, covering the east and west zones, so you won't need to walk far if you want to enjoy these services. GETTING AROUND With a bus stop practically at the doorstep, transport will be no problem for our guests. Although the airport aerobus stops a 2-minute walk away, we recommend our private transfer partners, usually cheaper than airport taxis. Let us know in advance if you’d like to book this service. ACCESS TO PROPERTY Guests have exclusive access to the entire first floor (both studios) and to all shared areas of the building, including the rooftop terrace and the laundry room. There is no elevator in the building. Access to the apartment is via stairs only. INTERACTION We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay. OTHER OBSERVATIONS - According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (E.g. passport, identity card). - Check-in must be scheduled in advance. In case the check-in is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours prior arrival, guests will be subject to the availability of our team. - All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide a crib, a baby high chair and a baby bathtub if needed. First aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available in all properties. ATTENTION Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay.
