Antiga Fábrica da Manteiga is a unique property that combines tradition, history and comfort, located in Arco da Calheta, one of the island’s most pleasant and sunniest areas. This former butter factory has been carefully adapted for holiday accommodation, preserving original pieces and museum-style elements that pay tribute to traditional butter production, visible upon entering the ground-floor living room. The main house features a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, and a second bedroom with two single beds, ideal for children or friends. Outdoors, guests can enjoy a pleasant open-air area with a dining table, sun loungers and an outdoor shower, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach or exploring the island. The property also includes an independent annex, known as “Casa 4 Netinhos,” consisting of a studio with four single beds, a bathroom with a shower and a small support kitchen, offering additional privacy and flexibility. With a maximum capacity of 7 guests, this property is ideal for families or groups seeking comfort, space and a special connection to local history. AREA Located in Arco da Calheta, a quiet area highly appreciated for its mild climate throughout the year, Antiga Fábrica da Manteiga offers easy access to Calheta Beach, restaurants, cafés and local services. The area is known for its natural beauty, levada walks, hiking trails and ocean views, making it an excellent base from which to explore the island in comfort and tranquility. GETTING AROUND The best option to get to the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport. If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address. There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the apartment. ACCESS TO PROPERTY You have access to all areas of the property. INTERACTION We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay. OTHER OBSERVATIONS - According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card). - Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team. - All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property. ATTENTION We inform that a Municipal Tourist tax will be charged for person staying overnight in the municipality of Calheta. All guests staying in tourist developments and / or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged 2,00€ per person/night, up to a maximum 7 nigths stay/ 14€ per person. Close to your arrival, you will receive the link to pay this fee. RULES We want you to feel at home. We do not ask for more than respect for neighbours and care for the property, in addition to not smoking inside the house.
